Holy Correction

The Only Sacred Offering

There’s a lot being said about locked doors, offering time, and what is or isn’t sacred in God’s house.

But allow me, as a woman after God’s own heart, to offer some Holy Correction—rooted not in opinion, but in the eternal Word of God.

Let’s be clear:

The only offering in the church that is sacred above all others

The only moment where heaven itself stands still

The only time when the hosts of angels rejoice with thunderous praise…

…is when a sinner offers their life to Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:1 (NIV)

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”

That is the offering God honors.

Not the envelope. Not the dollar amount.

But a life, surrendered.

And when someone stands up in the sanctuary and says,

“I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord”—

we don’t need the doors locked.

We don’t need the ushers moving.

We don’t need another appeal.

We need to be still and recognize the holy ground we’re standing on.

Luke 15:10 (KJV)

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”

  • That’s when the rejoicing begins.

  • Not when the basket goes around.

  • But when a soul comes home.

Let’s Get This Right

To every pastor, every leader, every congregation under the sound of my voice:

Let us never again protect the offering plate more than we protect the altar call.

Let us not shame people into giving what’s in their wallet, while ignoring the greater miracle—

When someone gives their heart to the King.

Because salvation is the sacred offering.

That is what moves heaven.

That is what Jesus died for.

So if we’re going to close doors, let it be to shut out distractions when someone is about to cross from death into life.

That is holy.

That is sacred.

And that is where our full attention should be.
